About Us

New Zealand Photographic Art Academy (NZPAA) was established to achieve the following objectives:

  • Promote New Zealand Photographic Art Academy as the primary and preferred New Zealand photography organization that people want to attend Photo Exhibitions or Contests in New Zealand and overseas.
  • To build a bridge between New Zealand photography and the World.
  • To organize an influential international photography salon competition in conjunction with world-renowned photography organizations to enhance the international influence and status of the country and the level of local photography. At the same time. we will strive to organize local events to further promote New Zealand’s Photography Cultural activities.
  • To provide an opportunity for shutterbug to enjoy their journey of photography and improve their professional photography skills.
  • To promote the advancement of the photographic science and art in all its applications in New Zealand and overseas.
  • To promote and facilitate friendship, co-operation and the exchange of information and ideas on photography between photographic organisations national and international wide.
  • To hold and/or promote both New Zealand local and international exhibitions and
  • salons of photographs and/or equipment used in the production of photographs.
  • To popularize photography by holding photography teaching sessions and other activities.
  • To foster supervision and control the conduct of Inter-Society Photographic
  • Competitions or any other similar activities as it may from time to time be decided upon, whether in New Zealand or overseas.
  • To publish a magazine and/or any other books or publications relating to photography.
  • To associate or affiliate with or become a member of any other national Guild or Society (whether incorporated or not) whose objectives are similar to those of the Society.
  • To procure from and communicate to such Societies all such information as may be likely to promote common objectives and interests.
  • To purchase, hold, administer, take on lease, improve, hire or otherwise acquire and dispose of, let or lease real and personal property in any manner the Council may deem necessary or expedient for the purpose of attaining the objects of the Society or promoting the interests of the Society or its members.
  • To engage in any lawful activities which may be conducive or incidental to the attainment of the Society objectives.
  • To make Rules and By-laws as may be necessary for the regulation or good conduct of the Society.
